2 nabbed in Rs 13.5-cr fake ITC case in Ludhiana

The CGST Commissionerate, Ludhiana, has arrested two persons in fake input tax credit (ITC) case amounting to Rs 13.50 crore approximately.

As per information, the mastermind, Baljinder Singh, alias Bunty, booked in March, named two persons, Mohan Lal Verma and his son Mukesh Verma, who, in connivance with Baljinder Singh, passed on fraudulent ITC worth approx Rs 13.5 crore on the strength of bogus invoices valued at Rs 91.73 crore through four bogus firms.

For their involvement in the operation of four bogus firms through which they passed on fake ITC worth Rs 13.5 crore, the two accused were arrested on Sunday and remanded in judicial custody till November 26.
