2 injured in firing at dhaba on Bahadarke Road

Old enmity over money the trigger, victims vendors

Two persons were injured in a firing incident at Manmohan Singh Colony on Bahadarke Road last evening.

According to information, the incident occurred at a dhaba where the victims were sitting. They have been identified as Raman Kumar (32) and Sham Kumar. One of their friends was thrashed by the assailants.

The injured youths are vegetable vendors and they had an old enmity with Mani Nepali who, along with his friends, barged into the dhaba and opened fire at the victims.

Sources said the victims had some money issue with the key suspect, Nepali, and a few days ago, and they also had a scuffle with him. He had threatened the victims that he would teach them a lesson.

According to the police, raids were being conducted to nab the assailants.

The sources said the police had been checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area to get some clue about the assailants. The police suspected that the assailants could have used an illegal weapon in the crime.
