2 bikes stolen; house, shop burgled in Ludhiana

Two motorcycles were stolen from different parts of the city, while thieves broke into a shop and a house and took away cash and valuables during the last 48 hours.

One Hero Splendour motorcycle (PB-10AC-6397) was stolen on Saturday from outside a ‘mazaar’ near Jalandhar Bypass. On a complaint lodged in this regard by Rana Goyal, resident of Karamsar Colony, Main Tibba Road, the police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC.

In the second case, Jasmeet Singh, resident of Sector 6, Guru Gyan Vihar, complained to the police that his motorcycle CT-100 (PB-10GY-9301) was stolen by somebody from outside Waves Mall. A case has been registered under Section 379 of the IPC.

Thieves broke into a house in Guru Nanak Dev Nagar Colony in Haibowal on the intervening night of September 9 and 10 when the members of family had gone out of the city on vacation.

Owner of the house Sumit Kumar said in a complaint filed with police that when he came back home on September 12, he found that locks of the house were broken open and the thieves had taken away three LCDs, laptop, gold chain weighing 20 gm, silver chain weighing 20 gm, silver ring, 60 pieces of Alexa speakers and Rs 30,000. The police have registered a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.

At Sunet village, a garment shop was burgled on the intervening night of September 6 and 7. Burglars broke open the lock and took away Rs 97,000 from the cash box. The thieves were identified from the CCTV footage and the police booked Rahul Roy, resident of Madhuban Enclave on Barewal Road, and Santosh, resident of Panchsheel Vihar on Baraewal Road, under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.
