Amid the Covid pandemic, dengue has also started spreading its tentacles. An 18-year-old boy from ward number 31 lost his life to dengue at SPS Hospital last night. He was the younger son of a former vice-chairman of Parvasi Bhalai Board, Vishavnath Singh.
According to the family, the boy was suffering from dengue and was admitted to they hospital two days ago. Before his death, the boy had saved the life of his elder brother by donating platelets when he was suffering from dengue.
The deceased’s father said the platelet count of his son decreased rapidly to 4,000 and he succumbed last night. Despite repeated attempts, District Epidemiologist Ramesh could not be contacted for his comments. — TNS
