15 more contract Covid in Ludhiana

Source of infection to Division 2 cop unknown, 4 declared cured

Today, 17 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Ludhiana, of which 15 belong to the district.

A 24-year-old constable, who belongs to Barnala and is posted at Division No. 2 at present, has also tested positive. He is asymptomatic. His samples were randomly taken as part of an exercise to examine frontline personnel. The source of his infection is not known yet.

A 24-year-old woman and a five-year-old child, both contacts of a Covid patient from Gill Road, have tested positive. Two teenage sisters from Prem Nagar, Islamganj, have contracted the virus.

A 72-year-old elderly person and a 29-year-old man from Habibganj, both contacts of a Covid patient from Field Ganj, have tested positive besides a pregnant woman from New Janta Nagar.

The others who tested positive today include A 62-year-old woman from Nirmal Chhaya Flats, Rishi Nagar; a man from Rajiv Gandhi Colony, Focal Point, a resident of Gurpreet Nagar, Daba Lohara Road, a 35-year-old man from Mundian Kalan.

Four persons from Ajit Nagar, Dhandra Road, Millerganj and Lakhowal admitted to private hospitals have tested Covid positive.

Meanwhile, four more patients have been declared cured in last 24 hours. The number of patients discharged from hospitals has reached 179. To date, 9,020 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district, the number at present is 2,307. Today, 235 persons were sent to home quarantine. As many as 1,160 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing.

Steps for wearing, removing face mask

  • Clean your hands properly before wearing a mask
  • Ensure that the mask is not torn
  • Hold the mask by the ear loops and place a loop around each ear
  • Bring the mask to your nose level
  • After removing the mask, again clean your hands with soap or sanitiser.
  • Avoid touching the front of the sanitiser.
  • Remove the mask by pulling the loops from the ears.
  • Clean your hands once again after removing the mask.
