10-year jail for possessing drugs

Ludhiana: The Court of Special Judge Jarnail Singh has convicted Tarsem Singh, alias Bhau, a resident of Ravidass Nagar, Ludhiana, on the charges of possessing 150 gm of intoxicating powder. He was ordered to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The accused was booked at Dakha police station on May 14, 2017, under the NDPS Act. ASI Balbir Chand, along with other police officials, was patrolling near grain market, Mullanpur, when the accused was seen coming from Raqba village. On seeing the police party, he tried to flee but was caught by the cops. He was frisked and 150 gm of intoxicating powered was recovered. OC
