Phagwara: Mohit Gangwad, a student of Lovely Professional University (LPU), was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Chiherru village near the university on Thursday. The deceased was pursuing MSc from the university. SP (Investigation) Manpreet Dhillon said: “The cause of the death will be ascertained after getting the report of the autopsy." oc

Two killed in road mishap

Phagwara : Two motorcycle-borne youths were killed on the spot when a canter hit their bike near the power house on the Phagwara-Banga road on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Sahib Singh and Kirandeep, both residents of Chack Mander village, the police said. The driver of the canter managed to escape, leaving the vehicle behind. oc

Burglars strike at House in village

Phagwara: The house of Capt Tirlok Singh was reportedly burgled at Panchhat village on Friday. The burglars entered the house after breaking grills and decamped with 10 tolas of gold and Rs 34,000 in cash. The family was away to Daroli Kalan shrine and found the house burgled on return.OC

Cash snatched from employee

Hoshiarpur: Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a cash bag containing Rs 55,470 in cash from an employee of a finance company in Garhdiwala here. Rajwinder Singh, a resident of Dakoha village in Gurdaspur district has filed a complaint with the police. He said he was working with a Gurdaspur-based finance company. Two persons on a motorcycle snatched the bag from him and fled the spot when he was returning to Gurdaspur after collecting money. OC
