Exactly after seven months and two days, a new film, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, was finally released in tricity cinema halls on Sunday. The film has been produced by Zee Studios and directed by Abhishek Sharma. It stars Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh, and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles. The cast also includes Annu Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Nehha Pendse, Manuj Sharma, Neeraj Sood, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Karishma Tanna and Vanshikha Sharma.

Going by the recent scenario where big films are being released on OTT, the fate of this movie would definitely be a deciding factor for many more who are considering theatrical release over OTT.

game of numbers

At Elante Mall alone, 200 tickets were sold by the evening, excluding the late night shows. Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Piccadly Square says, “There is 40 per cent increase in the business from earlier days, which is a respite. The government should change the ‘one-seat gap’ rule for families to enjoy movies better.” Another from Centra Mall, Chandigarh, informs that 125 tickets were sold, while at the North Country Mall the figure touched one hundred with the late evening show.

Public nod

Happy at last

I have come here because it was Diljit’s movie; also I enjoyed watching the trailer. If the trailer could be watched more than twice, then the movie had to be good. And, gladly, it was!
