Were you fascinated by cinema since childhood?

Yes, the world of cinema fascinated me as a child. I still remember I used to wear a saree and start acting in front of my family as well as friends.

How was the experience of working in your debut movie Romeo Ranjha?

By God’s grace, I got a chance to debut with big actors such as Jazzy B and Garry Sandhu. On the first day of shoot, I was very nervous. But the team members always made me feel comfortable. So my experience was memorable.

From Romeo Ranjha to Muklawa , which one is your best film and why?

Well, both films are very close to my heart and it will be very hard to choose one of them. I started my career with Romeo Ranjha and Muklawa gave me more recognition!

On a regular basis, you might not get so much time at home. So, what are you up to these days?

Actually, I am still stuck in Mumbai because of the lockdown and could not go home to stay with my parents. But I am enjoying my time all alone!

Don’t you feel like going for the shoots again?

Yes, I am missing my shooting days and want to get back as soon as this thing gets over.

What advice would you give to people to stay safe?

My advice to people is very simple - please use a mask and gloves. Sanitise your hands every now and then. Prefer not to eat outside. If you find any Covid-19 symptoms, please stop going to your work place with immediate effect and seek medical help.

What new things you learnt during this tough phase?

Actually, I have learnt how to cook amazing dishes from YouTube. Now I know how to make pizza, momos; baking biscuit and much more.

Which city of Punjab do you belong to?

I belong to Raikot (Ludhiana).

Which is the one place you visit in Punjab when you are stressed?

The only place I visit in Punjab when I am stressed is Raikot because that is where my parents live.

Which is your favourite Punjabi dish?

Makki ki roti and sarson ka saag cooked only by my mother.

Your favourite Punjabi film?

Qismat.

Your favorite Punjabi song?

Das mereya dilbara ve tu kede arash da taara, das merya dilbara … is my all-time favorite song.

(As told to Dharam Pal)
