Whether or not this week’s mega-outing on Netflix Red Notice’s sequel will include India or not, the platform has gone out of the way to create buzz for the Indian fans. The cast — Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds — also appreciated the love Indian fans had sent them online and even repsonded to some in a video released by Netflix India. Fridays sure are becoming a star-studded affair, and this week Red Notice and Special Ops 1.5 were released on OTT. Even theatres beamed with crowds for the release of Binnu Dhillon’s Fuffad Ji, giving Hollywood film, Last Night in Soho, a run for its money.

Sing a song

Divine, Jonita and Badshah

It has worked for Netlfix once when the hype around Money Heist Season 5 Part 1 was created with a fan anthem, Jaldi Aao, which featured Anil Kappor, Rana Daggubati, Vikrant Massey, Shruti Haasan and Radhika Apte. And Netflix repeated it again by assembling the biggest names in the singing industry of India for a celebratory song — Bach Ke Rehna — for the movie Red Notice.

The anthem of Red Notice is a groovy new take on the iconic Hindi song Bach Ke Rehna Re Baba highlighting the action and adventure packed hunt for Cleopatra’s golden eggs, which is at the core of the film.

Special case

Special Ops 1.5

“Off to flying start #Special Ops 1.5, barely 20 min into the first episode and you’ll be treated with a couple of whistle worthy moments,” commented one twitter user. Kay Kay Menon’s re-entry as Himmat Singh in the prequel to Special Ops was widely appreciated. One user also shared his favourite dialogue from the series, “Ask no questions & hear no lies - an epic line from #Special Ops 1.5. Though the twists are quite predicted, but no one matches the act of @kaykaymenon02 as #HimmatSingh. Eagerly waiting for the next season. P.S. Don’t miss the ending (Farooq part)!!#HimmatIsBack”

In the theatre

Fuffad Ji

Binnu Dhillon’s Punjabi film Fuffad Ji had a field day and the audience especially loved his performance. Directed by Pankaj Batra, it’s the first time that Binnu Dhillon and Gurnam Bhullar have collaborated for a project. The film witnessed a great response from the viewers.

As far as Last Night In Soho is concerned, it got a mixed response from cine-goers. With Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a blockbuster in theatres and now on OTT, and Home Sweet Home Alone, Disney+ Hotstar also celebrated #DisneyPlusDay on Friday, which was also trending on Twitter.
