How will you sum up your acting career so far?

It has been a very good journey for me. By God’s grace, I have played roles which I wanted to do, right from Saloni’s character in my debut show and then Jaiwanta Bai’s character in Maharani Jaiwanta Bai Songara. People appreciated all my characters.

What made you choose Appnapan as your comeback project?

It was the story. Though it is a mother’s role, she has characteristics which are very different from a typical mother.

Appnapan talks about separation between parents. What do you have to say about the show’s concept?

The focus here is on relationships and how we as a society always give importance to families. When two people separate or get divorced, it affects the children. I think divorces are still not totally accepted by our society.

Tell us more about your role in the show.

I am playing Pallavi. She is an independent woman. She is the mother of three kids and can go to any extent for her kids.

You are playing a single mother in the show. What do you have to say about it?

Yes, Pallavi is a single mother. She is trying to balance between a working woman and a caring mother. She may come across as someone who is “controlling” but she is merely being a mother.

What are your views on financial independence of women?

I think because of financial independence and education, there is a balance between the home and the world. In today’s times, financial independence has made a woman think about herself and unless and until she is happy and confident, she would not be able to make her family happy.

What is your dream role?

Any role that is going to challenge me.
