Show comments

We can call her a multi-talented artist. She is Nisha Bano, model-turned-singer and actor. She has films like Jatt & Juliet, Yaar Belly, Teshan, Nikka Zaildar, Ranjha Refugee, Surkhi Bindi, Laavaan Phere and many others in her kitty. She shares her journey…

You are known for portraying different characters. How do you feel when people appreciate your work?

I love hearing words of praise for my work and I get inspired to do better. In fact, it becomes my responsibility to do better.

When did you realise that entertainment was your calling?

I liked to act as a child. I used to participate in functions in college and in school. Back then, I thought that I should become a singer when I grow up.

List some of your accomplishments in the field of acting.

My biggest achievement is that people love me and like my work.

Describe your most challenging role till date.

My most challenging character was in Surkhi Bindi. It was simple, serious and very emotional. I have done more comedy and bubbly roles till date but my role in debut movie Surkhi Bindi was well appreciated.

Who do you consider your role model?

I consider everyone, who does good work, as my role model.

What is your strength as an actor?

People’s love and trust, and my family’s support.

How does it feel to be so successful?

Right now I do not consider myself successful. I still have many dreams to fulfill. Still, whatever fame I have earned today, I have earned it with the blessings of my parents and I am very happy when everyone loves me.

Are you happy with your career trajectory?

No. I am waiting to play challenging characters so that I can showcase my talent.

What type of role do you see yourself playing in the future?

Something like Tabu’s character in Drishyam. If I get to do such a movie in life, I would be very happy.

You are a star now. Do you feel any difference in your life, or is everything the same as it was?

By the way, it is the same.

Are there things you want to do other than acting?

Apart from acting, I sing, spend time with my family, I sleep, I watch TV; I do so much already, there’s no time left to do anything else.
