How did you bag your first project?

I got my first project through a rigorous set of auditions. I still remember the day; I was so nervous but I was determined to succeed. It was for a show on DD national titled Kyunki Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai.

Did you always want to become an actor?

Yes. Since childhood I dreamt of being an actor but being an introvert, I didn’t have any courage to say it to anyone. But as I grew up, I made sure to leave no stone unturned to make my long-standing dream come true.

What were your struggles during the initial days?

My initial struggle was with myself, as I knew no one in this industry. So, it’s a different level of pressure, especially for an introvert like me. But again, the universe was my saviour and step by step I am here.

Who inspired you to become an actor?

I was fond of watching TV serials, especially Balaji Telefilms shows like Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli, Kasam and many more. So, you can say that it was Ekta Kapoor and her TV shows that inspired me the most to become an actor.

People in the industry say that luck makes all the difference; what is your opinion?

Of course, luck matters a lot in life! There were so many opportunities where I got shortlisted and even selected for some very big projects. But luck panned out in a different way and I lost those projects. So, luck matters a lot in an actor’s life!

Name the directors you want to work with?

Hansal Mehta, Anurag Kashyap and SS Rajamouli.

What are your resolutions for 2022?

I want to be fitter, focus more on my work, and devote all my energies towards working on my craft.

What is your favourite pastime?

I enjoy reading books and watching movies.

What’s next up for you?

As I always want to do challenging roles, I am still looking out for something. At the same time, I have been giving auditions for movies, television and web series. I have also been shortlisted for a Bollywood movie as well.
