Show comments

Gagan Randhawa earned many Indian and global titles before stepping into the world of acting. The model-turned-actor from Jalandhar made her acting debut with Punjabi film Zakhmi. She talks about the movie, how modelling inspired her and how a positive attitude can change one’s life.

You got a name and fame with your debut film Zakhmi with Dev Kharoud. How has the experience of working with him been?

It was an amazing experience working with the action hero Dev Kharoud. He is a very humble perosn and always supports his co-actors. As Zakhmi was my debut Pollywood film under Binnu Dhillon Production, it meant a lot to me, my life and my career.

You have done theatre and modelling earlier. How has been the transition to films?

It was quite smooth! After winning many awards and tittles at beauty pageants, I joined an English theatre course in New Zealand to explore the acting talent in me. But I have also faced challenges to be where I am today.

You are also debuting in a Hindi web series. Can you share some details?

Yes, I am making a digital debut with Zidd, opposite Aly Goni. The series also stars Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri and more. Zidd is a tale of conviction, persuasion and commitment.

What advice would you give to your fans in these tough times?

Most important thing is to take care of your mental health and no need to panic. Just follow proper guidelines while stepping outside home. Stay fit and happy.

What has been your biggest learning from the industry?

Artistes must have a positive attitude at all times.

Which city of Punjab do you belong to?

Jalandhar, but currently I live in Mohali.

Which is your favourite Punjabi dish?

Black chickpeas.

Your favourite Punjabi film?

Angrez.

What is that one thing about Punjab and Punjabis that you like the most?

Bravery.

Three prominent places you would recommend your fans to visit in Punjab?

Sri Harmandir Sahib, Rangla Punjab (Jalandhar), and Virasat-e-Khalsa (Anandpur Sahib)

Any Punjabi film you are doing?

Hopefully, soon.

How are you keeping yourself fit these days?

Doing regular gym sessions and eating healthy.

Are you staying in touch with your fans as well?

Yes, via social media.
