Mahesh Bhatt trolled after WhatsApp chat with Rhea Chakraborty goes viral

Show comments

On Friday, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt started trending on Twitter after screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation from June 8, allegedly between him and actress Rhea Chakraborty, made it to the new headlines. Twitter has been flooded with memes and trolls targeting the veteran filmmaker, with netizens claiming that people like him do not deserve to be respected.

The screenshots of the chat, doing the rounds on social media, suggest that Rhea informed Mahesh Bhatt that she was leaving her boyfriend, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Netizens allege it was Mahesh Bhatt who started talking about Sushant’s depression after the actor’s death, just as he spoke about actress Parveen Babi’s mental health in the past.

“Parveen Babi was depressed!

Divya Bharti was depressed!

Jiah Khan was depressed!

Sushant Singh Rajput was depressed!

All were depressed & that’s why they committed suicide. #MaheshBhatt don’t imposed the tag that they all were depressed & mentally unstable to hide d conspiracy,” tweeted a user.

“This crazy man Mahesh Bhatt is psychotic himself and then goes around labelling others depressed, crazy. Parveen Babi was labelled crazy by him & then he tried playing same stunt with Sushant #SushantSinghRajput #MaheshBhatt #CBIForSSR,” retorted another user.

On Thursday, reports also emerged claiming that Rhea was inside Cooper Hospital at the time of Sushant’s post-mortem. Netizens are blaming Bhatt along with Rhea for the same.

“Who allowed Rhea Chakraborty to go inside the hospital?? She stayed there for 45 minutes. What is she doing during…??? Of course they were tampering with the evidence... #MaheshBhatt #ArrestRheaTai,” tweeted a user.

Pooja complains of cyber bullying

Pooja Bhatt has complained of being a victim of cyber bullying by women on Instagram. She has also made her account private after receiving death threats. “People threatening violence/hurling abuse, suggesting you die seems to have become a norm on @instagram when reported, #Instagram mostly responds saying that the conduct does not go against their guidelines and suggests you block them. #Twitter has far better standards/guidelines,” wrote Pooja.

“What’s even worse is that most of the abuse and messages screaming ‘Go die’ or ‘why don’t you kill yourself’ come from women or at least people pretending to be women — one can’t really tell with @instagram anymore. Get your act together @instagram cyber bullying is a crime,” the actress wrote in two separate tweets from her verified account on Friday.

Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput passed away, the Bhatt family has been facing the ire of netizens especially because of the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s close association with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. His daughters Pooja and Alia Bhatt are also being trolled on social media.

Pooja Bhatt’s comeback film Sadak 2 has also been facing flak from netizens who have accused the Bhatt family of championing nepotism, after Sushant’s untimely demise in June. Sadak 2 casts both daughters of Mahesh Bhatt — Alia and Pooja Bhatt, along with Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapoor. The film’s trailer emerged as one of the top three most disliked videos in the world. — IANS
