Akshay Kumar-starrer Laxmmi Bomb, which is set to release on November 9 on OTT, has landed in controversy. Earlier #BoycottLaxmmiBomb was trending as SSR’s fans, amongst others, were protesting against Bollywood. Then, it was accused of promoting love jihad as Akshay Kumar plays Asif and Kiara Advani plays Priya in Laxmmi Bomb. And now, the Hindu Sena has demanded change of the film’s title. They have written to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar in this regard.

In an official statement which was released on Tuesday, the Hindu Sainiks stated that film’s title mocks the Hindu goddess. Vishnu Gupta, the president of Hindu Sena, said, “I request everyone belonging to the Hindu community to boycott the movie, if the title is not changed before the release. The name of the movie is highly derogatory and offensive in nature; the name of Hindu Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of fortune and wealth has been used in the movie title along with the word bomb, which is unacceptable to the Hindu community. The word bomb has been used to provoke the Hindu community.”
