Lalit Behl passes away due to Covid-19

Veteran filmmaker and actor Lalit Behl passed away on April 23. The 71-year-old succumbed to Covid-19 related complications.

A gold medallist from the Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Lalit Behl is known for critically acclaimed films such as Mukti Bhawan and Titli. He also starred in the web series Made In Heaven and movie Judgementall Hai Kya. Lalit’s Mukti Bhawan co-star Adil Hussain confirmed the sad news on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Extremely saddened by the demise of one of my dearest and most respected co-actors, Lalit Behljee. Who, so brilliantly played the father in @MuktiBhawan! I feel the loss of my father again! Dear Kanu, I am so very sorry for your loss.”

Actor Ranvir Shorey was also shattered to hear the news of Lalit’s demise and tweeted, “Shattered to read this. So many memories. He was warm and affectionate and wise. Learnt so much from him. Heartfelt condolences to the family, @KanuBehl.”

Lalit Behl is survived by his wife, actor Navnindra Behl, his son Kanu Behl and daughter-in-law, music composer Sneha Khanwalkar.
