Your entering Bigg Boss came as a surprise. How did this happen?

There are several reasons but the most important one is this is the number one reality show and the entire country watches it. Been born and brought up in a very protective environment, I am a bit sensitive. Also, I was occupied with a daily soap, so I was not keen on joining the show earlier. This year the timing was good and everything fell in place. Also, in 2020 the whole world is a Bigg Boss house so why not join the real one!

How did you prepare yourself for a show like this?

I am into yoga and have just finished a teacher’s training in yoga. By doing yoga, you get to know your mind. Yoga made me more flexible. I feel people will see the real me in this show.

Who do you feel will go far in the show?

I think Rubina Dilaik. She will be my competition. The way she has been handling herself is great and I also like the fact that she speaks mostly in Hindi. I hate actors when they do Hindi shows but talk in English.

What is one thing which you will miss?

My husband, who is my best friend. He has been a rock-solid support to me. He took such good care of me when I lost my father. I hope inside the Bigg Boss house the hidden demon in me does not come out in the absence of my husband. He has made me a better person.

Any particular lucky charm you would like to take inside the Bigg Boss house?

I am a devotee of Mahadev. My late father used to chant with the beads of Rudraksha. If I am allowed, I would love to take them inside. That’s my lifeline.

Do you think a show like Bigg Boss can build careers?

I have been in the industry since the last 18 years. I come from a village, I am grateful to the Almighty for everything. People at Bigg Boss must have seen the potential in me and that’s why they kept inviting me several times. And finally when I am doing this show, I am sure this show will give me a lot. It has definitely done wonders for many.

What is your focus now as an actor?

I certainly believe television is my territory. This medium has given me a lot, including my identity. I have done Punjabi films in between because I wanted to get my creative satisfaction. Playing a heroine is definitely a nice feeling.
