I am ready to experiment, says Nikhil Malik

Nikhil Malik’s journey in the entertainment industry has been quite interesting. After a reality show, Nikhil is now looking forward to web series and daily soaps. Here’s a candid chat with this Delhi boy.

Tell us about your initial years in Mumbai.

I came to Mumbai four years back. I took some acting workshops but left the course within three months as I felt that they were not teaching the real things. Then MTV Splitsvilla happened and that’s how I started my journey in the industry.

How was the experience of working in MTV Spiltsvilla X3?

The Spiltsvilla experience was very good. When I was much worried about the way things were moving, Spiltsvilla gave me a boost. It brought back the fighting spirit in me.

What are your career goals?

I want to be a versatile actor and want to explore different characters on different platforms such as television, films, web series and stage. I am always ready to experiment. I don’t plan anything for the future because if that does not work, I might get disappointed.

Are you open to daily soaps on TV?

I think daily soaps take a lot of time. It’s a long commitment and eventually everyone wants to get into movies. But right now, getting work is more important than the medium.

If not an actor, what would you have been and why?

This question has been asked by my mother and many others. But honestly, I don’t have an answer because I did not have a second option. I only wanted to become an actor.

What is your dream role?

I would like to play a character like that of Iron Man.

After a hard day at work how do you unwind?

If I am very tired then I go to sleep, if not then I drink wine while binge watching shows on Netflix.
