Chandigarh to host Sports Lit Fest, Play Write, on February 22

The 3rd edition of Play Write, India’s premier Sports Literature Festival will be held on February 22 at the Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh.

Vivek Atray, ex-IAS, author and co-founder of Play Write, said, “A glittering array of sports personalities, including famous Olympian and Dangal star Babita Phogat, along with hockey greats Ajit Pal Singh and Ashok Kumar from the 1975 Indian Team that lifted the world cup, Akhil Kumar, Commonwealth gold medallist, and Joy Bhattacharya, well known sports administrator, will speak at Play Write 2020. India’s women’s basketball team and Frisbee team will also be represented at the event.”

Chitranjan Agarwal, CA and co-founder, Play Write, said, “Chandigarh is the ideal venue for Play Write as the world cup cricket semi-finals have been held twice (PCA Mohali) and the Davis Cup Tennis Semi-finals have also been held (at CLTA) here. A number of sportspersons of international acclaim hail from Chandigarh and the region. These include Milkha Singh, Kapil Dev, Abhinav Bindra, Sardara Singh, Sakshi Malik, Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur.

Play Write brings together sports personalities and authors, who have written books on sports. The event has roped in well-known personalities from the playing fields of cricket, football, tennis, hockey, badminton, golf, kabaddi, squash, shooting, wrestling and athletics to name a few. —TNS
