Docu-series Being Serena showcases tennis star Serena Williams’ life

Discovery Plus has announced the release of its latest Emmy-nominated sports docu-series that follows pivotal moments in the life of tennis champion Serena Williams. Titled ‘Being Serena’, the five-episode series showcases game-changing moments in her professional and personal life; tracks her pregnancy, motherhood, comeback and more. Serena’ success story goes well beyond her 23 singles women’s grand slam titles, 39 grand slams overall and four Olympic gold medals!

Since her return to the court after embracing motherhood, Serena rose to fame once again, qualifying for four grand slam finals between 2018 and 2019.

While not serving in the court, Serena supports minorities and women by funding their businesses through her VC Serena Ventures. She bagged the title of Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year in 2015 and is also a four-time awardee of the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year, first in 2002 and most recently in 2015.
