Diya Aur Baati Hum star Deepika Singh is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Titu Ambani

Show comments

Tell us about Titu Ambani.

The film happened because of Mahedra Vijaydan Detha and Dinesh Kumar, who are producers. They believed in me and offered me this role.

Were you apprehensive about this project?

A bit because I am from TV and I was not sure how the audience would react to this. Rohit has done a lot of hard work; he has been working in this film for the last three years.

From TV to Bollywood, how will you sum up your journey so far?

On TV, I have got immense love. I have got some loyal fans and they have been supporting me from day one. Diya Aur Bati wrapped up in 2016 but after so many years my fans still love me and that’s a great feeling. Now, I am expecting that my journey in films will also be fruitful.

Tell us about your role in the film.

I play Moushmi, who is a working woman. She has her own set of principles and doesn’t want to compromise on that. She loves her family.

How did you prepare for this role?

I have thoroughly read the script, internalised the main characteristics of Moushmi and kept that in mind while performing. Acting with veterans like Raghubir Yadav, Virendra Saxena and Bijendra Kala, is a feeling which I can’t describe in words.

Tell us about the director side of Rohit?

He is an amazing director and has a clear vision of what he wants. He knows his cast very well and their speciality and then he uses them in the best possible way. He also gives his actors a free hand.

How do you two strike a balance between work and family?

We live in a joint family, so things get managed easily. More than a husband and a wife we are best of friends. We want us to grow individually as we both want the best for ourselves. We both are clear about our goals.

Whom have you considered your pillar of strength in life?

Definitely Rohit, my husband. He is there in my weaknesses and he is my strength.

You have 4.8 million followers on social media. How conscious are you while posting?

I am not all that conscious. Fans want to see my spontaneity. I love dance and I link with the audience through my dance videos. Because of my fans I push myself on social media and I am growing because of them.
