Asha Negi’s new series Khwabon Ke Parindey

• What attracted you to Khwabon Ke Parindey?

I wanted to change the image of a good daughter and ideal daughter-in-law which I have on television. I wanted to show my acting abilities as well. This is such a bubbly and wild character — people have never seen me in this avatar before.

• How was the experience of shooting in Australia?

We have shot in the outskirts of Australia. What a beautiful country it is! We were there pre-Covid, so it was an enriching experience.

• How did you prepare for the role?

Before we went to Australia, we had a few script- reading sessions and I also learnt how to drive because that is an integral part of the show.

• Going by show’s title, what are your personal dreams?

One dream I have is to win an Oscar for my acting. Otherwise, the way my life is going, I am happy.

• Are you choosy about your work?

Yes, I am. Right now, I am not particular about any medium. If I get a good concept in a good show, I will take it.

• Any road trip which you have cherished in your life?

While shooting for this series, I became friends with my co-stars. Travelling, changing motels, going to beautiful locations by road, this will definitely be in my heart for a long time.

• What message do you want to convey to the people who want to pursue acting?

Have patience and do not lose hope. The profession which we are in needs loads of patience. Keep working on your talent and skills.

• On the movie front, how was it working with Anurag Basu in Ludo?

I feel extremely lucky to have played a part in Ludo. I don’t know whether that will help me to grab more roles or not, but the experience was very good.

• How do you unwind?

My time with myself. That is the time I actually do the introspection and retrospection, which helps me grow further.

• Few years down the line, would you want to do anything apart from acting?

I would like to do something which is related to my craft. It will be production or direction.
