'Nograj is anything but humble', says Danish Sait about his latest project, Humble Politiciann Nograj

Show comments

Comedian, content creator, actor— what would you like to be called?

I like to call myself a child and that’s a simplistic way to put it. I am enjoying all the opportunities I am getting in my career.

Define the title Humble Politiciann Nograj?

People who have seen the trailer know that Nograj is anything but humble. It’s a satire from the word go.

How did you prep for this role?

My director Saad Khan and I worked very closely. It’s a daily process unlike method acting which you prepare for and then go to the set. We have also copied nuances and mannerism of people we have met.

Will you continue your journey as an actor in the industry?

If opportunities come by, or else I will create one. It’s been three films and one series so far in my career and I would love to work more as an actor.

As an artiste how will you sum up the OTT content?

It’s a challenging job, because you need to stay with your character for a longer period. It also allows you to breathe and tell the kind of story you want to tell without being strapped by constraints of time.

As a viewer, what kind of shows do you like to watch?

I enjoy watching drama, crime, comedy. It depends on my mood. Right now, I am watching Succession.

What has the pandemic taught you?

It taught me the lesson that every morning you need to get up and keep trying. I had a good professional year and I am hopeful about 2022. Challenges will keep coming your way but you need to keep moving ahead with your story.

Your sister Kubra Sait and you are working in the same industry. How do you both inspire each other?

We both have our individual journeys in the industry. We are siblings who are happy with each other’s success and inspire each other. She is a fine actress and I am very proud of her journey.

As an artiste what’s your dream?

I want to be someone who can impact people with my content, be it a one-minute gag or a one-and-a-half-hour film. If I can help people escape from their reality, enjoy themselves, that would be my achievement.
