So, every time we hear about a movie being made, the usual perception is that there is a director who will shoot the film, the actors will play their characters and the producer will back the project with his funds. Once the shoot wraps up, the film undergoes post-production (this involves putting it all together, making it one whole), then it goes for a Censor Board certification and, last but not the least, the film is distributed to play in multiplexes and theatres.

Here’s the news... there is more to it. Yes, the last bit involving the distribution is the main step that decides the fate of any flick.

This year’s first Punjabi film Jaan To Pyaare has had a trying time. Even after getting January 3 as its release date, the producers say the film was not put up at multiplexes till the 5th evening.

“We have been struggling from pillar to post so that our film gets some shows. While the Censor Board gave us an okay on the 3rd, but we got shows at multiplexes on the evening of the 5th,” say Sanjay Matharu and Kingzee Chhachhi, the producers of the film. Nikku, known for his singing prowess, says, “It’s sad that our movie was sidelined to the extent that even its posters were removed from various display boards at multiplexes.”
