Getting a good job and that too well on time is everyone’s dream. Most of the competitive exams for jobs, be it UPSC Civil Services, state civil services, banking or SSC (CGL) exam, have graduation as the minimum qualification. Though lot of competitive exams are conducted when we pass out from schools after completing Class XII, but those are mostly for admission to various courses like engineering, medical or commerce and not for getting a job.

Preparation tips

  • The focus must be on all four sections and time management on each of the sections must be clearly laid out. Along with completing the syllabus, solve at least 50 questions each of mathematics, English and reasoning everyday.

  • Supplement this with any English daily as it will serve dual purpose — will help you in answering current affairs questions and improve your language skills, which will help in first two stages of the exam.

  • Make notes of general knowledge and newspaper everyday. Small nuggets of information surely help in attempting the questions. These info bytes also help while writing an essay in Tier II.

  • Continue with mock test papers and do analyse after completing the test and keep record to observe improvement in score. Practice as much as possible and try to solve past year papers of SSC CHSL
