Amrinder Goraya, associate director of the movie, Mitti—Virasat Babbaran Di, has welcomed New Year with the announcement of his latest project. Written by Amrinder himself, Gangs of India, is his dream project.

He says, “The story is based on a simpleton, who becomes a gangster after facing hardships in life. I feel there are so many real stories that I came across and our movie will be able to address the problems of common people.”

What made Amrinder go behind the camera? He quips, “It was my elder brother, music director Mr. Wow, one day asked me to help him with his work. I was preparing for my board exams but I said yes instantly. I have never stopped working ever since.”

Though Amrinder just ventured into direction, but he plans to make five or six movies this year itself. He adds, “Gangs of India targets the entire nation but the story is based in Punjab and Haryana. It has mainly a male cast because of the gangster world we will be showing. It does have a passing reference to girls who gets involved with gangs.” Direction is in the hands of both, Amrinder Goraya and Jeet Rataul.

Mr. Wow, music director of the film, says, “Well, I have a clear picture of the music that I want to make. It will be a mixture of Hindi and Punjabi so that the song appeals to the entire nation. Apart from that, the theme of the songs will be aggressive and mysterious in a way to reflect the society that we wish to showcase in Gangs of India.” Apart from that Mr Wow is gearing up for the release of upcoming movie, Ni Main Sass Kutni, for which he has done the music.

The most important thing is that the well-known faces from the theatre will take lead roles in the movie. Jagdeep Singh Mann will also start his acting career with Gangs of India.—TNS
