J&K girl students complete internship at IIM-Rohtak

With a view to aiding the development in Jammu and Kashmir and contributing towards women empowerment, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Rohtak offered an opportunity to girl students of Jammu and Kashmir to spend six to eight weeks on the IIM-Rohtak campus to hone their entrepreneurship and management skills.

“This programme was offered through different educational institutions of Jammu and Kashmir. Nearly 350 students expressed interest in the internship, of whom 64 were shortlisted. These students were invited to stay on the IIM-Rohtak campus, during which they got an opportunity to learn from our faculty and imbibe the IIM culture,” said a statement issued here today.

The internship included classroom sessions, lectures by expert speakers, project work, debates, assignments, and business-development activities to help enhance business understanding and cultivate scientific temperament for decision-making.

Students were introduced to the fundamentals of business management and entrepreneurship. Students were also taught on how to design a sustainable business plan, take financial assistance from banks and investors, executive their business model, understand business laws, and launch the start up.

The IIM-Rohtak Director, Prof Dheeraj Sharma, congratulated the students for successfully engaging in the internship with the istitution.
