IIM Amritsar's first EMBA course commences

In tune with the ever-evolving leadership roles to meet the challenges of the emerging business dynamics by grooming managers of the future, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar"s new two-year Executive MBA programme in a non-residential hybrid mode started with a virtual session last week. Addressing the 40 working professionals of the first EMBA batch with job experience ranging from three to more than 20 years, Prof. Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director, IIM, Amritsar, shared, "Our institution will ensure that business leaders as well as accomplished alumni would endow the executives with expertise that would substantively benefit their current organisations.”

 Congratulating the professionals who secured seats in this specialised program, the IRamamoorthy said the selection criteria for these executives working with prominent organisations in diverse sectors ranging from banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), IT and Consulting to Hospitality, Retailing, and Media and Entertainment was rigorous as it factored in holistic accomplishments from academics and work life.

 He motivated the students to dedicate themselves to learning as a continuous process, stressing that the rigor of the EMBA program would be the same as a regular MBA programme.

 During their virtual interaction with the faculty, the EMBA students expressed satisfaction that availability of class discussions as recordings for reviewing the key points later would make a big difference asthey would gain a lot from each other’s rich experience and the insights offered by the distinguished faculty.
