Women’s Day celebrated

Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU), Punjab, celebrated International Women’s Day in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the university campus.

The event witnessed the active participation of students, principals from various colleges, women sarpanches and community members from nearby areas.

Kamal Sisodia, Commandant of the 13th Battalion CRPF, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Parvinder Kaur, Pro Vice-Chancellor of LTSU, presented a comprehensive overview of the programme ‘Prerna,’ focusing on the theme ‘Breaking Barriers, Building Future through Skills.’

She emphasised the pivotal role of education and skill development in women’s empowerment and societal progress, stressing the importance of financial independence for women.

In her address, chief guest Kamal Sisodiya underscored the indispensable role of women in society, portraying them as the creators of life and the essence of the world. She also shed light on the significant contributions of women in the CRPF and encouraged them to consider careers in the security forces to bolster the country’s defence.

As a token of appreciation, she presented her book titled “Skill India Mission” to the Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Kaura, extending congratulations to all women present.

The university also honoured women staff.
