Woman’s modesty outraged, 4 booked

The Lohian Khas police have booked four members of a family, including a woman, on the charge of voluntarily causing hurt and assault on another woman to outrage her modesty.

Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Singh said the suspects had been identified as Joginder, alias Jindu, Lakhwinder Singh, a resident of Mianni village, his wife Amarjit Kaur, alias Ambi, and brother Mohinder Singh.

Veer Kaur, a resident of Sherpur Taba village falling under the Dharamkot police station in Moga, told the police that the suspects waylaid her and her son on April 26, 2023, assaulted them and tore her clothes.

The IO said daily diary report was registered on April 28. The SHO now visited the crime spot and ordered the registration of a case under Sections 354, 354-B, 323, 341 and 34 of the IPC against the suspects.
