Warehousing MD takes stock of procurement

Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Managing Director Bhupinder Pal Singh on Wednesday took stock of the wheat procurement operations in various grain markets of Nawanshahr district.

Expressing satisfaction, he said the procurement was going smoothly in the district and around 1.18 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has already been procured by various agencies across the district.

Directing the officials to ensure prompt lifting of the grains from the grain markets, he asked the officials to ensure the stocks of wheat must not pile up in the markets and farmers must not face any kind of difficulty.

He said the state government had made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the harvest of farmers was lifted from the grain markets in a smooth, timely and hassle free manner.

Directs officials to expedite lifting in Hoshiarpur

The MD also visited Hoshiarpur on Wednesday to review wheat procurement. Addressing the meeting, he issued instructions to the district officers and different procurement agencies regarding smooth procurement. He directed the concerned officers and agencies to expedite the lifting from the mandis. He reviewed the lifting, procurement and other arrangements in the district and directed to rectify the deficiencies at the earliest. — /OC
