Vajra Corps holds veterans’ day at Jalandhar Cantt

Jalandhar: A tri-services veterans’ event was organised by Vajra Corps at Jalandhar Cantt on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans’ Day under the theme of Swarnim Vijay Varsh-2021. This day is observed every year on January 14 to recognise and acknowledge the monumental contribution of veterans to the nation and the organisation. A wreath-laying ceremony was organised at Vajra Shaurya Sthal, wherein Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa, GOC Vajra Corps, and senior most veterans including Lt Gen Surjit Singh Sanghra (Retd), Lt Gen AS Bahia (Retd) and Lt Gen NS Bawa (Retd) paid tribute to martyrs. The Corps Commander said: “Veterans are an extremely important part of the Armed Forces. All measures will be taken by Vajra Corps to ensure that their needs and aspirations are met.” TNS
