Jalandhar: Engineering students of St Soldier Group of Institutions have got selected in the companies including Adani Power, Tata Power Solar Limited, JBS Enterprises Private Limited. Chairman Anil Chopra said the students of Electrical Engineering selected include Vikas Kumar Thakur in Adani Power, Uttam Chand Kumar in Coforge Company, Vipin Kumar inTata Power Solar Limited, Vishal in Zeiq, Honey in Nestorbird and Sandeep in Connect Company. Chairman Chopra congratulated the students for their future and extended their encouragement. Principal Dr Gurpreet Singh Saini said that the students have got an annual pay package of 2.5 to 3.5 lakhs and have got selected on good positions.
Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar
Swami Sant Dass Public School, Phagwara, has been awarded district-level Swachh Vidyalaya Puruskar 2021-22 in sub category of operation and maintenance in Kapurthala. The award has been instituted by Ministry Of Education, Government of India, to recognise, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. Out of 1,057 schools which got nominated for six different categories, 728 schools were shortlisted and 19 schools were awarded with 27 awards under different categories after the on-the-spot physical verification. The school got the award and recognition by scoring 100 per cent in Operation & Maintenance and Covid -19 Preparedness & Response with an overall score of 92 per cent. Davinder Kaur, Vice Principal, received the award on behalf of the school. The award was conferred at the DC’s office, Kapurthala. Anju Mehta (Principal) congratulated the school fraternity on this achievement.

MoU with Ghanaian Public University
Lovely Professional University (LPU) has collaborated with one of the top-ranked educational institutions of Ghana, Accra Technical University (ATU). In this regard, ATU and LPU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ghana. This strategic partnership will provide students and stakeholders with exchange programmes, joint faculty research publications, internship programmes among various other collaborative areas. Trip to National Physics Lab
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised an educational visit for postgraduate students of Physics to National Physical Laboratory in Delhi. During this visit, students were acquainted with thin film lab which is preparing 2D structure of Graphene and dealing with Nano materials. They also visited other labs where work on luminescent materials, bio-luminescent materials, security ink for currency notes is going on. In another lab where calibration and testing of devices for measurement of weights, forces, pressure and torque was being done wasp also shown to the students. Students were thrilled to see the maintenance of Standard Time of India known as IST in one of the labs. After the visit to this prestigious institution, students also visited India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Gurdwara Bangla Sahib along with faculty members and got the glimpses of rich heritage of India. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of PG Department of Physics for organising the visit.

Summer camp concludes
A 15-day long summer camp concluded at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, with the participation of the students in various cultural performances and showcase of their skills. The campers enjoyed watching an inspirational children movie “I am Kalam” at the very beginning of the day. Live musical orchestral performance presented by campers of junior and senior groups. A video comprising the curated clips and glimpses of the campers during the entire camp was shown to the audience which transported everyone to the fascinating level of experience. Campers from the senior group shared their valuable experience gathered during the camp. Kavneet Kaur from 10+1( Arts) shared her views regarding computer classes; Tanya, a student of 6th grade studying in Cambridge International School, Kapurthala presented her views on attending communication skills classes in English; Tannu from 10+1 (Medical) spoke in praise of cosmetology classes; Jaskaranpreet Kaur from 10+1 (Arts) shared her experience of dance classes; Sanvi, student of 8th grade from Bawa Lalvani Public School, Kapurthala presented her expression on learning musical notes from music classes and Tanisha, student of 10th grade from MGN Public School, Kapurthala applauded the variety of activities conducted during Art and Craft sessions. After that girls from senior group performed Bhangra and an instrumental performance on the song “Zindagi Yeh Safar hai Suhana” was also presented by the campers of senior and junior groups. From Junior group, a beautiful duo-cum- motivational song, “We shall overcome” was sung by Ojasvi Bhalla and Anika, both from 2nd grade from M.G. N. Public School and Cambridge International School, Kapurthala respectively. All teachers taking various classes during camp were also appreciated by presenting special certificates to them for their contribution and services rendered during the camp. A group photograph of all campers and organizing team was also taken to capture the memorable moment.
GIAN course at NIT
Prof Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, inaugurated a five-day GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Network) course on ‘Non-woven Technology and Recent Developments’ in online mode organised by Prof Vinay Midha, Department of Textile Technology and is being attended by 35 participants from different parts of the country. The participants include the faculty members and research scholars working in the field of engineering, fashion and home science. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, launched the programme titled Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education aimed at tapping the talent pool of scientists and entrepreneurs, internationally to encourage their engagement with the institutes of Higher Education in India so as to augment the country’s existing academic resources, accelerate the pace of quality reform, and elevate India’s scientific and technological capacity to global excellence. GIAN programme facilitates participation of high-quality international academicians/researchers for delivering short-term courses and programmes in Indian institutions. The international faculty of the course is Prof Gajanan Bhat, Prof and Head, Department of Textiles Merchandising and Interiors, University of Georgia, USA. Hoshiarpur: DAV College, Hoshiarpur, Principal Prof (Dr) Vinay Kumar informed that in Panjab University, Chandigarh result of MA 1st semester, Punjabi, Gurwinder Singh, secured first position in the institution scoring 313 (78.25%) marks out of 400, Jaspuneet Kaur secured the 2nd position and Sarabjit Kaur came third.
