Nawanshahr, August 2

Special Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner Ravneet Kaur today asked the officials to give assistance to people coming to the offices for getting their work done.

She was addressing the meeting at the District Administrative Complex after inspecting the Sewa Kendra in Nawanshahr and Saanjh Kendra in Rahon. She said people should be made more aware regarding online services being provided through online portals.

Expressing concern over the rejection of 448 online applications received at the Sewa Kendras during the month of July, she said a people friendly mechanism should be adopted so that the applications of residents applying online from their homes or other facilitation centres did not get rejected. Reviewing the flood protection arrangements made in the district, Kaur asked the DC and SDMs of flood prone subdivisions—Balachaur and Nawanshahr—to ensure close vigil of the Dhussi Bandh in wake of rainy season.
