Sambar enters village, caught, freed later

Phagwara, January 18

Panic gripped among residents of Narur village when a Sambar entered the village on Saturday.

Karanjit Singh, a resident of the village said he came from the village Gurdwara after paying obeisance when he noticed some voices from inside his house and noticed a sambar knocking the door from inside the house.

He immediately informed the village Sarpanch Surjit Singh who called the officers of Forest Department.

He told that after hard efforts of five hours staff of the Forest Department and villagers succeeded to trap the animal in a cage. The animal also sustained injuries.

Forest Department officer Pardeep Sharma said the sambar would be given medical aid and be released in the forests.
