Punjab tableaux get warm welcome in Hoshiarpur

Tableaux displaying the rich and glorious history of the state today received a rousing reception in the city as people showered flowers on them at various points in the city.

These tableaux include portrayal of Jallianwala Bagh incident, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Udham Singh, Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Sukhdev, Lala Hardiyal, Sardar Ajit Singh, Baba Kharak Singh, Madan Lal Dhingra, Dr Diwan Singh Kalepani besides other great personalities.

Similarly, through the second tableau, a life-size statue of Mai Bhago – the great Sikh woman warrior was displayed to further emphasise women empowerment. Likewise, Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls displayed portraits of successful girls who have earned fame in various fields. Similarly, through the third tableau, a glimpse of the rich heritage and civilisation of Punjab has been presented.

Along with a large number of people, Cabinet minister Bram Shankar Jimpa welcomed these tableaux upon its arrival in the city at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk.

He also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for displaying these tableaux throughout the state so that the people get to know about the rich cultural legacy of Punjab.

Mayor Surinder Kumar, SSP Surendra Lamba, Chairman Improvement Trust Harmeet Singh Aulakh, Chairman Hoshiarpur Central Cooperative Bank Vikram Sharma, ADC Rahul Chaba, SDM Preetinder Singh Bains and others were present.
