Punjab Police bags third position in national equestrian c’ship

The team of the Punjab Police bagged the third position during the 38th All India Police Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet held in Gurugram from February 5 to 14.

The Punjab Police team bagged 11 medals — two gold, five silver, and four bronze.

“As many as 30 horses and 36 personnel from Punjab participated in the championship,” said a PAP official. A total of 279 horses from all across the country participated in the equestrian championship.

From PAP, IPS Ranbir Singh Kahtra, PPS HPS Khakh, DSP Talwinder Singh and DSP Jaswinder Singh were part of the team.

Constable Jatinder Singh won a gold medal in the show jumping medium normal event, while Constable Bikramjit Singh won gold in show jumping novice top score.

In the dressage elementary, show jumping medium normal, show jumping novice top score, show jumping medium top score and cross-country pre-novice individual events, Sub-Inspector Youngbir Singh, Gurtera Singh, Head Constable Jarmanjit Singh, Constable Gurtera Singh and Constable Gurtej Singh won silver medals.

The PAP’s dressage preliminary team won a bronze medal. Besides, Ram Lal, and Constable Sukhpal Singh won bronze medals in the dressage preliminary individual and show jumping under trainees events, respectively. Sub-Inspector Youngbir Singh won bronze in the dressage medium individual event.
