Nine months on, 8 held in murder case

13 persons attacked 2 villagers, leading to death of one of them

Phagwara police arrested eight persons wanted in a gruesome murder case which took place in September last year. They were arrested for attacking Avtar Singh and Bashambar Lal, residents of village Gandhwa, Satnampura. In the incident which happened on September 23, 2021, Bashambar Lal was seriously injured and later to his death.

An FIR was lodged against 13 people under Sections 302, 307, 341, 323, 324, 506, 148, 149 and 120-B of the IPC at the Satnampura police station in Phagwara on September 24, 2021.

Of the 13 persons booked for murder, four had been previously arrested. The arrest was made on the directions of SSP, Kapurthala, Rajbachan Singh Sandhu and DSP, Phagwara, Ashru Ram Sharma along with a police party led by the Satnampura SHO.
