Jalandhar, June 23

MC’s ‘special’ meeting on LED lights has already got postponed once and it is supposed to be held tomorrow.

Councillor Jagdish Samrai, who has been vocal against the project, today said there was no need to hold the meeting without the presence of MC Commissioner who has been on leave. “We have already held so many meetings with the Mayor. We need CEO of the Smart City project to be present at the meeting and MC Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma is the CEO. She will be able to clear our doubts, otherwise, like previous held meetings, there will only be talks, but no results,” he said.

Nirmal Singh Nimma, another councillor who has raised the issue, also said until now the answers to their questions were not given. “No proper answers have been given to us. We are still not prepared for the meeting. Even if Smart City officials provide us everything in detail right before the meeting, we wouldn’t have the time to read it properly,” he said adding that the councillors will meet tomorrow ahead of the meeting to talk over the issue. Mayor Jagdish Raja, however maintained that meeting will ‘definitely’ take place.
