Manual pollution certificate illegal after March 31

Regional Transport Authority Secretary Nayan Jassal today directed all pollution control centres to upgrade themselves as from April 1, pollution check certificates issued manually would be considered illegal.

The RTA Secretary said all centres across the state in general and the city in particular would have to be updated with VAHAN 4.0 software. She said the updation process had to be completed till March 31 by all ways and means.

Dr Jassal said stern action would be taken against those pollution control centres who would not update themselves with the VAHAN 4.0 software.

She said after March 2020, all manually issued pollution control certificates would be declared illegal, adding that a massive awareness drive to in this regard will also be launched in the coming days.” — TNS
