Man commits suicide

Phagwara, February 16

A man, Kuldip Chand, reportedly commited suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Palahai village here on Saturday night.

A financial dispute with a resident was said to be the reason behind the extreme step. The police have registered a case and sent the body to the local Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The case has been registered under Section 306/34, IPC, against Harjinder Singh and his wife Surinder Kaur, both residents of Chachoki village, on the charges of abetment to suicide. — OC
