A modified New Holland 3630 tractor that belongs to NRI Buta Singh Johal of Dhabal Ke village here is competing with luxury vehicles around.

He has modified his tractor-trailer in a magnificent way by replacing its accessories with America-based Peterbilt truck.

His tractor has all that is found in a luxury car from chain steering, revolver gear rod, pressure horn, dazzling fancy lights, wide tires, music system, LED TV, imported alloy wheels and a ceiling fan. Besides, the trailer of the tractor has special six-seater comfortable seats that he (Buta) has specially got for the six children of his family.

Buta said he bought the tractor in 2015 and then decided to give it a special look.

“After having spent almost four-and-a-half years for changing it into a luxury vehicle, I have come to take it along to my hometown in Vancouver, Canada,” he said.

When asked about the reason behind modifying the vehicle, Buta said he had a penchant for tractors since his childhood. He said there was a time when he had to sell his own tractor in 1999 to travel to Canada.

“Since that day I had on mind that when I will be financially strong, I would design my own tractor and give it a look that I dreamt of always,” he said.

He said no matter how many luxury cars or cherished Royal Bullet bikes remain parked in Punjabi houses, the love for tractors had always remained a fascination for Jatts.

He said he takes the tractor to nagar kirtans and fairs, including Baisakhi fair in Canada.

“The children in my family enjoy having rides on the tractor. When everyone else in Canada travel in their high-end cars, we go out on this luxury tractor which forces everyone else to peep out to have a glance of this iron beauty,” he said.

When asked about how much he has spent on getting this tractor modified, Buta said a total of Rs 20 lakh had been spent in giving it a look that he wanted.

He said he would spend another Rs 5 lakh for transporting it to Canada.
