In a statement, society convenor Dr Ajay Bagga described the decision as unfortunate and against the interests of common man. He said the government’s argument that corporate tertiary-level hospital to whom the land has been transferred was looking after Punjab patients in need of ventilation and tertiary care, was not digestible as ordinary people do not visit corporate hospitals. He urged the CM to review this decision and take necessary steps for running medical college in the coming academic session. OC
