Fire Safety Week observed

Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School is making its participation in the ongoing Fire Safety Week from April 14 to 22, being observed by the Punjab Fire Service Department. Fire safety team with its officials, fire extinguishing devices and fire brigade visited the school. Fire Officer Jaswant Singh and leading fireman Naresh Kumar made a valuable and practical address to the students and staff to make them aware of the safety gadgets and to stay alert and respond quickly. Emergency helpline numbers were refurbished during an interaction. Further, demonstration was given to explain the right method to use extinguishing devices. Hands-on drill was also carried out to eliminate any fear in common minds. Rachna Monga, Principal, thanked the fire department officials and team for the valuable demonstration in the school and mentioned that students’ behavioural and responsive training under emergency situations is also an important area of development.

Police DAV Public School

‘Fire Service week’ was also observed on the campus of Police DAV Public School. Officers from the Fire Services Department, Jaswant Singh Kahlon, Naresh Kumar, Gaurav Bharadwaj, Vijay Kumar, Prabhjot Singh and Jaswinder Pal Singh gave valuable information about the steps to be taken in case of a fire breakout and what number to dial to call the fire brigade. A live demonstration was also given of the procedure to put out the fire. The students of Scouts and Guides and NCC (Army/ Navy/ Air wing) also participated in the mock drill. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij presented tokens of appreciation to the officers.

BVoc Web Designing results out

In the result of BVoc Web Designing and Development (IT) Semester VI declared by Guru Nanak Dev University, the PCM SD College for Women students got a good result. Ekta bagged fourth position and Lovedeep Kaur bagged fifth position in the university by securing 93.25 pc and 91.75 pc respectively. The members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the students for their unrelentless and painstaking endeavours as well as the faculty for these results.

Farewell party organised

Students of senior classes of Eklavya School gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing class XII batch. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The ceremony started with the welcome of Class XII students. Sanchit Gandhi and Nishesh Singla of Class XI, welcomed and introduced the guests. JK Gupta (Chairman) gave his best wishes to all the students and said anything can be achieved by the sincere hard work and dedication. The programme started with prayer ‘Itni Shakti Hume Dena Data’ as XI class students presented songs for class XII students. Karan Jassal, Sagar and Rajwinder Singh, students of Class XI, sang a beautiful song in front of all. Principal Komal Arora and coordinators Rita Rani and Bhawna Bhatt gave gifts and best wishes to each student.

Entrepreneurial workshop

The PG Department of Cosmetology of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised Entrepreneurial Workshop-cum-Sale under the aegis of start up Kaaya under the guidance of Principal Prof Ajay Sareen. In this workshop, students of Cosmetology made organic rose water (from original rose petals) which can use as rejuvenating facial toner. The students also made cleanser cum scrub for cleaning and exfoliation. Navroop, in charge, Mukti, Head PG Department of Cosmetology welcomed Principal Dr Ajay Sareen and guests. Students have analyzed the skin with skin analyser and guide the clients about how to do skin treatments at home from kitchen ingredients for different types of skin and also cleared various doubts of clients. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen appreciated a lot for this effort of department and congratulated the department.

Fest Rang Manch organised

APJ College of Fine Arts lifted the overall trophy of Rang Manch 2022, an inter-college management fest, organised by the Department of Business Management and CT Institute of Higher Studies at CT Group of Institutions. The theme of the event was “Think, Create and Present the Best” and it was beautifully blended with the culture diversity. The students from various colleges from all over Punjab namely DAVIET, APJ College of Fine Arts, APJ Institute of Management and Technology, DAV College, DAV University, KMV College, Innocent Heart Group of Institutions and Trinity College etc participated in the different activities viz. business pan, Gyan Bindu (quiz competition), rangoli, Ad Mad Show, collage making and also taken its form in dance, fashion show and singing. The event witnessed the participation of more than 350 students from the various institutes and they were delighted with the platform provided. The overall winner trophy was bagged by APJ College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and the Runners- up trophy was fetched by DAVIET, Jalandhar.
