Nawanshahr, January 29

Demanding cancellation of the upcoming show of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose wala at ITI Grounds on February 17, members of an NGO, Mission 6213, gave a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner and SSP here on Wednesday.

Parvinder S Kitna, a member of the NGO, said they came to know about his upcoming programme through a promotional video that went viral on social media.

The NGO members said they were averse to organising his programme as the singer was known for songs that promote violence and drugs.

The NGO members added that they had been making efforts for the implementation of the Punjab and Haryana High Court orders in which it had directed the state DGP to ensure that any music promoting violence, drugs and liquor was not allowed to be played, not even in live shows.
