Admn provides medicines for critical baby at home

Amid curfew imposed to check the coronavirus spread, parents of a three-month-old baby, who is scheduled to undergo a major life-saving surgery, got some relief as the administration ensured them provision of medicines at home.

Three-month-old Abhi was suffering from a critical problem due to which her stool was passing through stomach. The parents of the newborn were advised two life-saving intestine surgeries, one of which had been conducted earlier, whereas the other was scheduled in the month-end. However, after the imposition of curfew in the city, the parents of the child were facing huge problems in getting medicines for the surgery.

Medical stores had expressed their inability to help them as the required medicines were available in surgical stores only. However, after the administration released the list of helpline numbers for any emergency, the baby’s mother called Drug Control Officer Kamal Kamboj. Realising the gravity of the situation, the Drug Control Officer swung into action and ensured the supply of the medicine at their doorstep.

An emotional mother thanked tWefforts of the administration for bailing them out in the hour of crisis.
