Accident snuffs out life

Hoshiarpur, January 22

A youth, Vinay Jaswal, son of Rajiv Kumar of Jandoli village in Chabbewal, died on the spot while his friend, riding pillion to him, was seriously injured when the bike they were riding on was hit by an SUV in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The deceased was the only son of his parents, who lived in Dubai. He had left his home to purchase kite string. The injured was identified as Vishal of Jandoli village.

According to information, Vinay wanted to study abroad after Class XII. He had recently joined an IELTS coaching institute. The youths tried to overtake an SUV, when they were hit by the vehicle. They fell on the road and the SUV ran over Vinay. They were admitted to a private hospital on the Chandigarh road, where Vinay was declared brought dead. The police have sent his body to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
