2 held with fake currency

The Bhogpur police arrested two persons with fake Indian currency worth Rs 65,800 here on Thursday. The duo were nabbed at T-point, Bhogpur. They were riding a motorcycle at a high speed. The police have impounded the vehicle.

During checking, two persons coming on a motorcycle were intercepted by the police. The person driving the bike revealed his identity as Ashwini Kumar (40) of Ludhiana. During search of his bag, fake Indian currency of Rs 49,000 was recovered, whereas the pillion rider, who has been identified as Gaurav (25), a resident of Kot kishan Chand, here, was found to be possessing fake currency worth Rs 16,800.

An FIR was registered against them under Sections 420, 489, 489-B and 489-C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). — TNS
