New Delhi, October 13

J&K’s ex-Governor and Congress veteran Karan Singh today expressed sorrow at the recent killings in the Union Territory and called for restarting of the political process as soon as possible.

The senior Congress leader said the Delimitation Commission must fix its own deadline to complete the exercise and once that is done and full statehood restored, free and fair elections should be held.

Singh said, “Young men who took to the gun inevitably perished by the gun.” The former Member of Parliament said the events in J&K highlight the necessity to strengthen our security apparatus and public vigilance at all levels.
